My New Sketchbook :F

I thought it’d be cool if I showed my art even if it’s been super crappy lately.

Don’t beat me.

List of Songs I Would Cover

If I were ever in a band, surely it would cover a load of epic  songs and have an eclectic array of songs referencing pop culture. I think I would like to call my band Vogon Poetry or May You Have Interesting Times or something.

Anyway here’s the list of some of my favourite pop culture songs that I feel you can’t really go wrong with. If you’re interested in jamming, we can do some epic geek stylinz and be crazy, like.

1. So Long and Thanks For All The Fish (from the Hitchhiker’s Guide to the Galaxy film)

2. Tongue Tied (Red Dwarf)

3. Star Wars Cantina Theme (well, duh)

4. Saga Begins (Weird Al)

5. As The World Falls Down (Labyrinth Soundtrack)

6. Flintstones theme song (The mothereffin’ Flintstones)

7. Sugar, Sugar (The Archies)

8. I Got A New Way To Walk (the Oinker Sisters, Sesame Street)

9. Since You’ve Been Gone (Weird Al)

Just because it’s Weird Al, ya dig.

10. Captain Planet theme song (Captain Planet)

Waddya reckon? Any takers?

EDIT

HOW THE HELL DID I FORGET JONATHAN COULTON’S SONGS… LIKE, EVERY ONE.

GEEZ.

This week and baby puke

You know when, you’re so amped up, so incredibly passionate about something that you think you could just burst with the sheer love for what you’re doing?

I had that today.

Sure it was raining the kind of rain that makes you want to stay indoors and under a warm blanket. Sure I had to travel 45 minutes just to get to school. Sure, I didn’t even get enough sleep.

It’s amazing just what you can put aside when you know you’re about to make do something so brilliant and so imperfectly perfect that you think you could just bubble up and hug everybody within a five meter radius.

So this week we officially entered Week 1 of the production of Sh*t, It’s Happening. I didn’t actually want to blog anything before now because it was almost like a dream too fragile that just thinking about too loud might knock it over. But now it’s official.

We’ve talked to the folks at Arts House, we’re sending in the script to MDA and we have our actors. You know what? I feel great about the whole thing.

Basically the entire play (Sh*t, It’s Happening is the play’s name. Keep up, yeah?) is about four friends who are between polytechnic and further education and have no gosh darn golly clue what they’re doing.  I thought up of dialogue and helpful sequences for Sabrina to translate into real, thoughtfully written dialogue. We’re Producer and Director and as of today, we have another Producer (big wink). We have a Designers and Publicists and we even have most of our Actors.

It’s hard to believe that this idea just started with some idealistic babbling over MSN and then as of a month ago, bouncing about some script ideas and very basic dialogue around between myself and Sabrina. Then internship ended and we actually had to do stuff like type out a script in sequential order. HAH! Take that, procrastination! Now we’ve grown to an actual team with people that have actual titles and yes, we’re designing a logo as of this week as well!

Bloody hell!

I guess this is just a classic example of the power of passion and enthusiasm. It is infectious! I just can’t tell all involved how grateful I am that you see the potential in this project. And now, to some really interesting weeks ahead!

Singapore Bloggers

So, is it just me or are all female Singapore bloggers who have a high readership have the following qualities:

  1. Attractive
  2. Have a taste for rich, Caucasian men
  3. Love showing off where they went to eat

I have no problem with the first quality but seriously, 2 and 3? I mean, what kind of example are you setting here?

You have a rich boyfriend, you’re fortunate enough to be able to eat foie gras on a weekly basis and all you can do is write blogertorials about make-up?

You know, if I were a professional blogger I think I would at least write movie reviews but no, they put up pictures of themselves prancing about merrily in croptops and dresses that probably range in the hundreds. (Charities? fwa? Those children can take care of themselves right? People living in poverty still work whaat)

Forgive my bohemian ideals but Singapore, I can’t believe you’re actually wondering why we don’t have a decent talent pool. Look at the trash you advocate on the internet.
